Obi-ita


Obi-ita

Obi-ita is a tool for putting kimono on.
It's also called "Mae-ita".
It's used by women and girls only.

It's made of pasting clothes on a piece of cardboard.
It keeps the front of obi smooth.

Recently, some strange Obi-ita are appearing.
It have beautiful patterns or lace for peeping out from obi.



There are few kind of Obi-ita.
From upper left, to lower right:

- Nomal type, Putting it into between 1st-bound cloth and 2nd-bound cloth of obi.
- Having rubber belt type, Winding it around stomach after wearing Juban.
- Mae-musubi type, Tying obi at front, and turning it to the back.
